At dk envy salon and Spa our intention is to capture hair that is wearable, original and fashion forward. Whether your preference is natural, soft, polished, vibrant, textured, smooth or sexy, we intend to create your desired result. Hair is a representation of self expression and our goal is to invoke confidence and execute hairstyles that are personalized to each individual….hair is your BIGGEST accessory!

dk envy is a full service salon and spa with a warm and inviting atmosphere that Inspires self esteem with beauty and the ever moving fashion industry. We are featuring some of the city's top stylists and innovators in the hair industry.

dk envy participates in various charitable events such as Shave a Lid for a Kid through Bishopp O'Burn High school and helped raise over $28,000, as well as various silent auctions throughout Calgary. dk envy believes in giving back to the community in various forms as a way to better our community and lives. As well, through a sponsorship with World Vision, 2 children will have the opportunity to go to school and move forward in their lives..

Owner & The Founder

Darlene Kelsey Style Maker knows good hair. After all, it's in the master stylist's blood. The daughter of a 30-year hair-styling veteran, Darlene chose the same destiny early, and has had very little time to look back.

Graduating from Delmar Hair College at 20, she apprenticed at Mirada Salon, only to be spotted and scooped up by spa maven, Eveline Charles. Quickly working her way from junior to senior stylist and amassing a loyal clientele in the process, Kelsey's continued drive and love for her work gave way to developing her first home-based salon in 2004.

Reaching capacity just as quickly prompted the opening of her first 1000 sq. ft. retail salon: aptly named dk envy. Darlene's passion, however, almost ended her career just as swiftly as it began: a collapsed wrist meant surgical intervention was necessary, with a prognosis against ever doing hair professionally again.

Lucky for hair-obsessed women everywhere, Darlene recovered, and the rest, as they say, is shear history. Forging ahead and opened the second and current incarnation of dk envy.
